Is Yindi Preventative Cream suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes. Yindi is formulated with whole, skin-recognised ingredients and is commonly used by families with sensitive or reactive skin. We always recommend a patch test before regular use, especially for very sensitive skin.
Can this cream be used on babies and children?
Yindi is made with families in mind and is used by children within our own family. However, every child’s skin is different. We recommend:
Patch testing first
Using a small amount
Avoiding broken skin
If you have concerns, consult your healthcare professional.
Why doesn’t Yindi feel oily like other tallow creams?
Unlike many tallow balms, Yindi is a true cream. The combination of tallow, egg yolk, honey, herbal infusion, and emulsification allows the product to absorb quickly without leaving a greasy residue.
Is Yindi an “active” skincare product?
No. Yindi does not rely on isolated actives. Instead, it uses whole ingredients that naturally contain a wide range of constituents working together in balance.
How often should I use Yindi Preventative Cream?
Use as needed. Many people apply:
Once daily in the evening
Or only when the skin feels dry, irritated, or compromised
If your skin feels nourished, you may not need daily application.
Can I use Yindi on sun-exposed or irritated skin?
Yes. Yindi is often used on skin that feels dry, irritated, or sun-exposed. Always apply gently and discontinue use if irritation persists.
Why does the cream sometimes sting when applied to inflamed areas?
A mild, short-lived sting can occur on inflamed or compromised skin. This is a normal response and often settles quickly.
If stinging continues or feels uncomfortable, remove the product and discontinue use.
How should I store my cream?
Store in a cool, dry place. Refrigeration after opening can help extend freshness, especially in warmer climates.
How long does one jar last?
This depends on use. With regular facial application, many customers find one jar lasts 1–3 months.
Is Yindi suitable for eczema-prone skin?
Many families choose Yindi for eczema-prone skin, but we do not claim to treat medical conditions. Patch testing is essential, and ongoing conditions should be discussed with a healthcare professional.
Is this product tested on animals?
Never. Yindi is cruelty-free and tested only on willing family members.
Where is Yindi made?
Yindi is made in Victoria, Australia, with care and intention.
Is Yindi registered with the TGA?
Yindi is classified as a cosmetic, not a therapeutic good, and is formulated and marketed accordingly.
How is Yindi preserved?
Yindi Preventative Cream is a water-based formulation, which means responsible preservation is essential to ensure safety, freshness, and integrity.
To protect the full spectrum of naturally occurring constituents within the cream, Yindi uses Geogard ECT, a naturally derived, globally accepted cosmetic preservative system. This allows the formulation to remain stable without compromising the quality of the herbs, oils, or nutrients.
Alongside this, the formula also contains naturally occurring supportive preservatives, such as vitamin E and raw honey, which help reduce oxidation and support freshness. These ingredients work together, but on their own are not sufficient to safely preserve a water-based cream.
Rather than relying on harsh synthetic preservatives or stripping the formula back to an oil-only balm, this approach allows Yindi to remain:
Safe for regular use
Stable over time
True to its whole-ingredient philosophy
Preservation is not an afterthought — it is part of caring for the formulation, the ingredients, and the people using it.
